Sun damage, age spots, redness, and roughness are just a few common skin concerns that are caused by damaged skin cells. Photorejuvenation offers a gentle treatment to remove these skin cells and promote the growth of healthy ones for smoother, softer skin.
Photorejuvenation, often called a photofacial or IPL, is a gentle laser light treatment that targets the outer layers of skin. The treatment does not affect deeper layers of skin like some other laser treatments, so patients can enjoy minimal downtime and side effects after treatment. Photorejuvenation can effectively treat the face, neck, chest, hands, arms, and legs.
Photorejuvenation is often the go-to treatment for patients who want to improve their overall skin tone and texture. Candidates for photorejuvenation are those who experience skin redness, discoloration, and other surface level concerns like age spots, enlarged pores, rough texture, visible blood vessels, and dull complexion. Photorejuvenation is a great solution to those who want a gentle treatment option for improving their skin with minimal peeling or side effects.
“The staff were amazing, they make you feel like family. Adley is very experienced and I felt confident in his abilities. I’ll definitely be back. :)”
Adley DaSilva will begin the treatment process by cleansing the skin and applying a cooling gel to protect the skin and increase patient comfort. The Photorejuvenation system handpiece will then be placed over the treatment area. Adley will then deliver laser light wavelengths, which will be absorbed by any discoloration in the skin. This process can take about 30 minutes to complete.
There is no downtime after treatment with photorejuvenation and side effects are very mild but may include some redness for the first 24 hours. Brown spots may appear darker right after treatment, but will flake off to reveal new skin beneath. Patients should avoid sun exposure and use adequate sunscreen when outdoors to prevent future damage. While one treatment sessions may be enough to show improvements, we recommend several spaced-out treatments for maximum improvements.
